Raihan Zamil’s Biography

Raihan Zamil joined the BIS in 2011 and currently oversees the FSI’s banking supervision dissemination programme and outreach activities in the Asia-Pacific region. From 2000-11, he worked for the International Monetary Fund and an international consultancy as a banking policy and supervision adviser to central banks in Asia and eastern Europe. Before that, he worked at the US Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where he held a number of positions in banking supervision, including head of the capital markets supervision of the organisation’s Western Region. He was educated at the University of California-Berkeley, Walter A Haas School of Business.
