Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Data Analysis & Visualization Specialist with banking sector experience and a focus on automation to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing research efforts in support of IACPM’s global and diverse membership.

About the IACPM:

The International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers is an industry association established to further the practice of credit exposure management by providing a forum for its members to exchange ideas. Membership in the IACPM is open to all financial institutions worldwide that manage portfolios of corporate loans, bonds or similar credit sensitive financial instruments.

Currently, the IACPM is serving a membership of around 150 banks, insurers, investors and other financial institutions.

The IACPM represents its members before regulators around the world, holds bi-annual conferences and frequent regional meetings, conducts research on the credit portfolio management field, and works with other organizations on issues of mutual interest relating to the measurement and management of portfolio risk.

The IACPM has a distributed workforce which is mainly based in the USA with some in Europe. The successful candidate will be based either in the USA or Europe. Work from home is the norm and staff is expected to have a dedicated workspace in their own home. Some international travel will be required throughout the year to attend staff as well as member meetings and conferences. Flexible working options can be considered for this role, which reports to the IACPM Senior Director in charge of Research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support IACPM’s comprehensive research and benchmarking studies on the credit portfolio management field, including issues relating to the measurement and management of portfolio risk.
  • Preparation of detailed research reports and presentations.
  • Supporting in the identification of, and transitioning to, advanced analytical tools to improve research efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other team members to assist with ongoing research and initiatives.
  • Maintain and update existing databases with current information.
  • Contribute to the identification and development of future research.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Data Analyst with a focus on automation.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with keen attention to detail, and the ability to interpret data in a meaningful way.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; particularly an advanced level of expertise with Excel; and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with any of the following would be a benefit; i) survey software such as SurveyMonkey, ii) data analytics software such as PowerBI or Tableau, iii) VBA, or iv) Access.
  • Understanding of credit risk and credit portfolio management, e.g., risk appetite frameworks, concentration limits, risk mitigation tools, is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and competence in managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A proactive and curious mindset, with a passion for data and research, and the ability to embrace emerging issues in the ever-developing financial industry.
