Francois Favret’s Biography
Francois Favret is the Global Head of Strategic Allocation & Optimization at Natixis. He is an investment banking professional with more than twenty-year experience in private debt origination, structuring, distribution, and management. Since late 2012, he has been an executive committee member of Natixis CIB Portfolio Management team, going through its various evolutions, from its establishment as an asset rotation team focusing on EVA creation in the context of the launch of an Originate-to-Distribute strategy in the Bank, to its current form as Distribution & Portfolio Management, responsible for managing the global CIB loan book including primary and secondary distribution, risk and profitability management and workouts. In Distribution & Portfolio Management, François heads the Strategic Allocation & Optimization team in charge of defining a global portfolio strategy, developing and maintaining portfolio monitoring tools and processes, monitoring regulatory and accounting evolutions and liaising with regulators, as well as performing the department’s financial monitoring and reporting. Strategic Allocation & Optimization is the general entry point for Finance, Risks and Regulatory Affairs for all loan related matters. During the early years of establishment of Portfolio Management in 2012-2015, Francois led the Asset Optimization team, in charge of measuring and projecting portfolio profitability and selecting assets to be sold in the secondary market and set up key loan profitability management tools and processes to do so. Prior to joining Portfolio Management, François spent six years in Natixis Infrastructure & Projects finance team, first as senior originator and structurer and then as Head of the EMEA teams in Dubai, London, Madrid and Milan. He originated and negotiated the first Infrastructure co-investment partnership entered into by the Bank with Belgian insurer Ageas. François spent the first twelve years of his career in Bangkok, Hong Kong and then Tokyo for Societe Generale, originating and executing debt and equity transactions in Infrastructure, Energy and Natural Resources in Greater China, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea. He graduated from the EM Lyon Business School.
