IACPM Webinar: Synthetic on Balance-Sheet Securitization Insights

The International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers’ (IACPM) annual survey on synthetic Significant Risk Transfer (SRT) transactions shows that in 2023 banks protected €18.5 billion in first loss and mezzanine tranches through synthetic on balance-sheet securitizations. An increase from €16.3 billion in 2022, leading to a total amount of protected tranches of €55 billion by the end of 2023.

The continuing and growing interest is a testament to the value banks find in SRT transactions for risk and capital management, and the partnerships investors have built with issuing banks.

The webinar will feature a panel of experienced practitioners who will leverage the findings from IACPM’s recent  survey to provide an overview of SRT as a tool for risk sharing, discuss the purpose, benefits, and challenges associated with using SRT, and comment on regulatory frameworks now and looking forward.

Webinar Panelists:

  • Owen Worth, Securitised Products Group at Banco Santander CIB
  • Jason Marlow, MD, Portfolio Hedging & Optimization at Barclays
  • Douglas Darman, Strategic Corporate Lending at Deutsche Bank AG, New York
